Poultney High School-Boys Varsity Basketball - Poultney High School is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced leader to take the helm of our Boys Varsity Basketball program beginning the 2026-2027 season. We are looking for a coach who is not only passionate about the Xs and Os but is also committed to the holistic development of our student-athletes.As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and academic excellence, while building a competitive program that the Poultney community can be proud of.Key Responsibilities-Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the Boys Varsity Basketball program, including practice planning, game-day strategy, and player evaluations.-Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, emphasizing character development, teamwork, and academic accountability.-Coordination: Work closely with the Athletic Director to manage schedules, equipment, and travel logistics.-Collaboration: Coordinate with the Junior Varsity and Middle School coaching staff to ensure a cohesive developmental pipeline for the program.Community Engagement: Maintain professional communication with parents, faculty, and the local community.Qualifications-Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (preferred).-Deep knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and NFHS rules.-Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.-Strong organizational and communication skills.-Possession of (or ability to obtain) all required Vermont coaching certifications, including First Aid/CPR and NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching.
