Our client is seeking a Workday HRIS Specialist to support and optimize Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) in a fast-paced, growing organization. This role is a key contributor to ensuring payroll accuracy, data integrity, compliance, and a seamless employee experience.
You’ll act as a subject matter expert across Workday PATT modules, partnering cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Operations to drive system performance and process improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the Workday SME for Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking
- Configure, test, deploy, and enhance Workday business processes (cutoffs, audits, condition rules, notifications, labor costing, etc.)
- Manage bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll cycles, including off-cycle runs, audits, and year-end processing
- Oversee Certified Payroll Reporting (CPR) solutions (Workday and/or third-party), ensuring compliance and data accuracy
- Develop and execute a Workday PATT roadmap aligned with organizational growth
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and system performance
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to support business insights
- Troubleshoot system issues and integrations with third-party vendors
- Support Workday releases, testing cycles, and continuous improvements
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across HRIS processes
- Provide end-user support, training, and documentation
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- 3–5 years of hands-on Workday experience, with a strong focus on Payroll and exposure to Absence and Time Tracking
- Proven experience configuring Workday Payroll (earnings, deductions, taxes, costing, pay groups, schedules, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Time Tracking and Absence (time entry codes, accruals, leave plans, eligibility rules)
- Experience supporting mid-to-large, multi-state Workday environments
- Strong understanding of payroll concepts (gross-to-net, overtime, garnishments, taxability, retro pay, FLSA)
- Familiarity with time and attendance policies (shift differentials, premiums, meal/rest rules, rounding)
- Knowledge of leave policies (PTO, sick leave, parental leave, disability, unpaid leave)
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Workday Certification (Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, or HCM)
- Knowledge of Prevailing Wage and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) compliance requirements
- Experience with Workday integrations and vendor management
- Familiarity with Jira, Agile, or similar tools
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
