Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process for surgical procedures
- Serve as a leader and active partner within the interdisciplinary surgical team
- Communicate and delegate effectively to licensed and ancillary staff
- Provide patient education tailored to cultural, ethnic, and individual needs
- Oversee resources and promote cost-effective care
- Use clinical data and observations to drive improvement and patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional policies
- Remain knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations affecting practice
- Ensure safe handling and compliance concerning hazardous waste or medications
- Perform other related duties as required
- Minimum 2 years of circulator RN experience in heart, neuro, and vascular surgery
- Experience in high-acuity surgical environments
- Experience handling confidential information in fast-paced settings
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities
- Prior supervisory or direct leadership experience
- Certification in clinical specialty area
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
- Excellent time management; self-directed
- Sound clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Effective delegation and interpersonal communication
- Basic computer literacy
- Specialty certifications (e.g., CNOR)
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems
- Adaptability to changing environments and production pace
- Experience working with blood, body fluids, and exposure to communicable diseases
- Compliance with HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards
- Active RN License in the state of Louisiana
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA
- Preferred: Clinical specialty certification
- Heavy work: Requires exerting 50-100 lbs occasionally, 25-50 lbs frequently
- High physical demand due to patient handling and OR pace
- Regular exposure to hazardous waste and infectious agents
