- Hybrid assignment with onsite visits and observations required as needed
- Remote work day-to-day
- Onsite frequency: monthly/quarterly or as business needs require
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 6 Months
- Start: As Soon As Possible
- Pay Rate: $60-$65/hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours/week
- Extension Possible: Based on business needs and performance
- Personal phone required for assignment (or Microsoft Teams usage)
- No general expense reimbursement
- Mileage may be expensed only with prior manager approval for onsite visits or meetings
- Occasional overnight travel may be required to support project milestones
- Design and develop instructor-led, web-based, and on-the-job training solutions
- Perform detailed task analysis for job functions, business processes, and systems
- Develop technical learning materials including student guides, facilitator guides, simulations, videos, assessments, and hands-on activities
- Define learning objectives and course structures aligned with stakeholder needs and delivery constraints
- Apply established instructional design methodologies and company standards
- Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content
- Write clear and effective instructional scripts for text, audio, and video
- Lead milestone meetings including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train-the-trainer sessions
- Engage subject matter experts for content review, validation, and feedback
- Self-manage deliverables, deadlines, and proactively communicate risks or issues
- 3 years developing instructor-led and on-the-job technical training
- 3 years hands-on experience with Storyline, QuestionMark, and Author-It
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies
- Proven experience conducting detailed task analysis
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
- Experience designing training for adult learners
- Portfolio/work samples required for consideration
- Academy or apprenticeship training experience
- Technical writing experience
- Utilities industry experience
- Storyline, QuestionMark, Author-It
- Adult learning theory & instructional design
- Microsoft Office Suite
