NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Paraeducator, Special Education
Part-Time (Union Position)
Naubuc Elementary School
WAGES: $21.87 per hour
SCHEDULE: 10-month position, 18 hours per week
Daily Schedule to be determined
DUTIES: Responsible for the support of students receiving special
education services in a variety of settings. Duties may include
supporting students with academic work and attention to task;
implementing behavior intervention plans; facilitating social
interaction with peers.
Assists students in self-care areas as needed, including but not
limited to personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility
and lifting. Performs related duties as required or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to relate well to students with disabilities, to follow a
schedule with flexibility to changes. Must be able to assist
students in self-care areas which may include lifting. Good
communication skills are required. Previous experience working
with students with a variety of disabilities preferred, including but
not limited to students with autism.
REQUIREMENTS: Two years of College (60 Credits) or the equivalent Para Pro
Certification.
