Geographic area for this role is responsible for Western United States. Applicants must reside anywhere west of the Mississippi River.
Salary Range is $120,000 - $140,000 *The stated salary range reflects on target earnings (OTE) commensurate with experience.
SUMMARY
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is the primary representative of Gemini Industries for their assigned geographic region. This role is responsible for mentoring and leading a regional sales team to achieve sales growth and profitability objectives for Gemini Industries’ products and services within their area. This function maintains and grows existing customer relationships, develops new business opportunities, and ensures performance aligns with company standards for revenue, profit, and market expansion.
The RSM directly manages key accounts within the assigned territory and represents the company’s values, mission, and brand reputation to customers, partners, and the marketplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive increased sales of existing products at acceptable profit levels while expanding overall territory sales.
- Develop and implement annual regional sales goals and strategic action plans, including specific targets for new business and key prospect development.
- Regularly monitor progress against goals, evaluate performance data, and adjust strategies to ensure achievement or overachievement of objectives.
- Prepare and manage annual revenue and expense budgets within approved limits.
- Maintain awareness of competitive activity, ensuring the region maximizes its potential based on current market dynamics.
- Ensure effective sales reporting systems are in place; review reports regularly and take corrective action where needed.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Key Account and Target Account Management programs, overseeing these accounts personally or through assigned personnel.
- Maintain open and effective communication with the Laboratory to assist in the development and performance evaluation of coatings and systems.
- Provide detailed, accurate customer feedback to the Laboratory and Industrial Sales Manager regarding product performance and customer requirements.
- Complete all required company documentation accurately and on time, including expense reports, call reports, laboratory sample requests, and goal management reports.
- Demonstrate effective and consistent use of CRM software and other available management tools.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by management.
- Know, understand, and abide by all company policies, rules, and procedures.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of customer pricing, making recommendations to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
- Support accounts receivable and collection efforts for the assigned region.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (four-year college) or equivalent industry experience is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in wood coatings sales or closely related industrial coatings industry. Three (3) years supervisory experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel frequently by car, plane, or other means, including overnight travel.
- Reliable transportation capable of regional travel. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance meeting or exceeding state minimums.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, and move about customer facilities, production floors, or laboratories for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move sample materials, product containers, or demonstration equipment weighing up to approximately 30-35 pounds.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods when driving, attending meetings, or working on a computer.
- Visual acuity sufficient to accurately read labels, color samples, and technical documentation.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for operating computers, mobile devices, and small lab tools or sample containers as needed for demonstrations or product evaluations.
- Ability to work in environments that may include wood dust, chemical odors, or moderate noise levels, with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
