Role Description
G2 Advisors is partnering with a high-growth fintech company to hire a Senior Software Engineer for its New York City office. This is a full-time onsite role, with the expectation of working in the office most days, plus some work-from-home flexibility.
This is a strong opportunity for a senior backend engineer who wants to stay hands-on, work with strong peers, and help build systems that matter in a business with real scale and momentum.
The company is looking for someone with strong backend fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and the ability to design for reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability. You will work closely with product, data, and engineering peers on core product experiences and critical business infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 5 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong backend fundamentals and real production experience
- Strong distributed systems instincts and sound technical judgment
- Experience designing for scale, reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Experience with Kotlin and Spring, or the ability to ramp quickly from a similar backend stack
- Familiarity with AWS and Terraform
- High ownership and comfort operating with autonomy
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Experience in fintech, payments, credit, marketplace, or other high-reliability environments is a plus
- Experience at a fast-moving startup or growth-stage company is a plus
- Experience with monolith-to-service evolution or architecture transition work is a plus
- Experience leading technically through design, implementation, and code review is a plus
- Strong product instincts are a plus
- Spanish fluency is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $165,000–$210,000 USD
