Maintenance Planner (Industrial Maintenance) – Onsite

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support maintenance operations at a leading chemical manufacturing facility in Orange, TX. This is a true Maintenance Planner role focused on developing detailed maintenance job plans and work packages to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate will have experience planning maintenance work in an industrial manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environment and be proficient with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, or similar.
Key Responsibilities
- Review maintenance work orders for technical completeness and accuracy.
- Develop detailed maintenance job plans and work packages.
- Estimate labor hours, required crafts, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor services.
- Conduct field walk-downs to verify job scope and planning requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and reliability teams to ensure successful work execution.
- Utilize CMMS/EAM systems to create and maintain maintenance plans and job packages.
- Prepare complete job packages, including labor, materials, permits, safety requirements, and procedures.
- Ensure maintenance procedures include hazard assessments and comply with safety policies.
- Create, revise, and update maintenance procedures, job plans, and checklists as needed.
- Incorporate technician feedback to continuously improve maintenance planning processes.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) activities related to maintenance procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience.
- 2–5 years of maintenance planning or closely related industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, pulp & paper, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Experience using CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, Oracle, or similar.
- Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Ability to estimate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and maintenance best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating maintenance procedures, SOPs, and job plans.
- Knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard assessments, and safe work practices.
- Experience supporting turnaround, shutdown, or reliability maintenance activities.
- Chemical or petrochemical plant experience is highly preferred.
