I&E MAINTENANCE PLANNER
Location: Orange, TX, 77630 (Onsite)
Duration: 1 year contract
Pay rate: $45/hour on W2 - $48/hour on W2
We are seeking an experienced I&E Maintenance Planner to support maintenance and turnaround activities within a petrochemical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing detailed job packages, performing field walkdowns, coordinating resources, and ensuring maintenance work can be executed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Electrical & Instrumentation (I&E) maintenance background and previous experience planning maintenance activities within refinery, petrochemical, LNG, chemical manufacturing, or industrial processing facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop detailed SAP maintenance job plans and work packages.
• Create job packages including labor estimates, materials, tools, equipment, drawings, procedures, and contractor requirements.
• Perform field walkdowns to verify scope, equipment conditions, access requirements, and material take-offs.
• Review work orders for technical completeness and ensure all required information is available prior to execution.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability teams to ensure work readiness.
• Identify safety requirements, LOTO requirements, permits, and hazard mitigation measures necessary for safe execution.
• Ensure maintenance procedures, OEM documentation, and technical standards are incorporated into job packages.
• Support turnaround (TAR) and outage planning activities.
• Review technician feedback and continuously improve job plans and planning libraries.
• Coordinate material requirements and verify parts availability before work execution.
• Support troubleshooting, inspections, testing activities, and maintenance reliability initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years of Maintenance Planning experience in industrial facilities.
• Strong Electrical & Instrumentation (I&E) maintenance background.
• Experience creating job packages in SAP PM.
• Experience performing field walkdowns and material take-offs.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
• Experience supporting maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, or outage activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, loop drawings, P&IDs, one-lines, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician, Instrument Technician, Electrical Foreman, I&E Foreman, or Electrical Supervisor.
• SAP PM experience.
• Primavera P6 experience.
• NCCER Industrial Electrician Certification.
• NCCER Instrument Technician Certification.
• Experience supporting petrochemical, refinery, LNG, gas processing, or chemical manufacturing facilities.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Candidates who have progressed from Industrial Electrician, Instrument Technician, Electrical Foreman, or I&E Supervisor into Maintenance Planning roles are strongly preferred.
