Production Supervisor – Automotive Manufacturing
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while ensuring production goals are achieved.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment (Required)
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising hourly production employees
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, overtime, and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), or similar manufacturing systems
- Experience managing production KPIs including Safety, Quality, Throughput, Productivity, Scrap, and Downtime
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop production teams
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production teams to achieve daily production, quality, and safety targets
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Manage manpower allocation, attendance, and employee performance
- Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives
- Analyze production issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve them
- Monitor and present production metrics and performance updates
- Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ideal Candidate Profile
Candidates should have hands-on supervisory experience within an automotive manufacturing plant, be comfortable working in a unionized environment, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of improving safety, quality, and production performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work 1st Shift (6:00 AM start) or 2nd Shift (4:30 PM start)
- Supervisors are expected to report 30 minutes prior to shift start
- Must be available for overtime and weekend work, including Sundays when business needs require.
