Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Administrative Assistant to support the Human Resources Manager in a fast-paced food distribution center environment. This role is responsible for assisting with the daily administration of HR functions, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of handling sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Schedule:
1st Shift – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM start
Flexibility is required during peak seasons, including occasional six-day workweeks and adjusted schedules based on business needs.
Pay Rate: $18.00/HR

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the weekly payroll process, including timekeeping audits, data entry, and distribution of paychecks and pay stubs
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records, ensuring all employee hours are properly recorded and compliant
- Prepare, verify, and reconcile cash deposits and payroll-related documentation
- Provide administrative support by preparing reports, correspondence, and HR-related documentation
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all personnel files are accurate and compliant with company policies
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with onboarding processes, including entering new hires into payroll systems and processing employment documentation
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollment forms, changes, and related documentation (medical, insurance, unemployment, etc.)
- Compile and prepare reports, summaries, and HR metrics for internal use
- Coordinate and assist with company events, meetings, and employee engagement initiatives
- Perform routine warehouse walk-throughs/inspections and report any findings to the Operations Manager
- Process invoices and assist with basic accounting-related administrative tasks
- Manage office supply inventory and place orders as needed
- Exercise sound judgment in handling employee concerns and escalate issues when appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and operational needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- 1 year of experience in an HR, administrative, or payroll support role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with payroll systems; familiarity with ADP or Stromberg systems is a plus
- Basic knowledge of HR practices, benefits administration, and employment processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent customer service and phone communication skills
Work Environment:
This position is based in a distribution center environment and requires the ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions. The role may involve both office and warehouse floor exposure.
