Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced HR Supervisor to join our team at a large food distribution center in Fontana, CA. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and overseeing daily HR operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws, and helping to foster a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced distribution or warehouse setting and is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on employee support. Experience in the food distribution or manufacturing industry is highly preferred.

Salary: $70,300/year

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and support HR staff while ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations
- Partner closely with management to address employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies and best practices
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as internal policies and procedures
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, and training processes to ensure a seamless new hire experience
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and HR documentation
- Assist with performance management processes, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations
- Support payroll processes, attendance tracking, and timekeeping systems to ensure accuracy
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with company values
- Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee questions regarding coverage and eligibility
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and employee engagement initiatives
Qualifications:
- 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a distribution center or food manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and HRIS systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
