The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs.

We are currently seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for customers entering the One-Stop center and provide front desk, reception, and general administrative support. Under the direction of the Site Lead, the Front Desk Receptionist will greet customers, answer phone calls, respond to general inquiries, schedule meetings, and direct individuals to appropriate staff, programs, and service areas.


Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Greet customers, partners, staff, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers entering the One-Stop center and direct them to the appropriate staff, program, or service area.
  • Answer multi-line phones, respond to general inquiries, and provide basic information regarding services, procedures, and appointments.
  • Schedule, confirm, and update appointments, orientations, workshops, and other service-related activities, as assigned.
  • Assist unemployed and underemployed individuals in a calm, respectful, and solution-oriented manner, particularly when they are experiencing stress or frustration.
  • Maintain orderly front desk operations, including sign-in processes, basic document handling, and customer flow.
  • Perform data entry and other assigned administrative support functions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant information and support effective customer service and front desk operations.


The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications:

  • 2 years of related work experience in administration and customer service.
  • Associates degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration or a closely related field.
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English required, bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and source of reliable transportation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including English Language Learners.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation: ability to accurately proofread and edit a variety of documents.

Paid vacation and company paid retirement plan with a 7% company contribution, educational tuition assistance program, and competitive salary in the range of $20.19 - $22.56 / hour DOE.
