Our FLMS staff work with students and families to develop a community model of communication and expectations that focus on balance and the whole student. Students are encouraged to be active participants in their learning by leveraging blended learning and advocating for themselves, as they become comfortable and confident in all learning platforms and modalities, guided by clear learning objectives and goals that are driven by data. Position Objective: This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility of managing the daily operation of the guidance office, staff and student support, and building safety. A thriving secretary is caring, compassionate, discerning, and expresses strong communication skills.Responsibilities: Demonstrates attention to duty, detail, and time management; working reliably without close supervisionDisplays problem-solving abilities and distinguishes prioritiesTreats staff, students and parents with respect and displays sensitive and positive communication skills, with tact and discretionMaintains accurate and up-to-date student records; including report cards and transcriptsDemonstrates thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipmentDisplays diligence in safety for all stakeholdersPerforms all job-related duties as assignedExtensive use of Student Information System (SIS), AspenRegistration: verify accuracy, parent communication, family tours, and management of student information in SIS (Aspen)Assists with transition of student information for in-coming and out-going studentsMaintains confidentiality when dealing with student information and sensitive issuesAssumes shared responsibilities for the clerical functions of the FLMS guidance officeCompletes additional tasks as assigned by FLMS PrincipalREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School DiplomaSecretarial/Office administration experienceSocial/Civic Expectations: Freetown-Lakeville students and staff will: practice responsible citizenship; respect self and others; accept responsibility; and work cooperatively.Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a secretary in a school settingKnowledge of SIS system, preferably AspenSalary & Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Association contract.
