Growing Real Estate firm seeks Senior Property Accountant
Are you looking for an opportunity with a fast-growing Real Estate company? Our client is an influential leader in the real estate industry. As a key member of the Finance / Accounting Team, the Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and other reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and performing variance analysis.
- Assist in monitoring cash balances and forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity. Work with asset management and property management on funding requests.
- Assist with all financial operations including but not limited to treasury management, financial reporting, lender reporting, lender draws, and tax filings.
- Calculate asset management and construction management fees, while also ensuring monthly fees owed to partners are sent by the property management companies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including preparing and filing tax returns, and maintaining proper records.
- Work with internal and external auditors to provide financial information and support for audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Experience with property management software and financial accounting software, such as Yardi.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
