About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator / Senior Estimator to join our team at a leading commercial door company. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience estimating commercial door, frame, and hardware projects and be comfortable managing bids from start to finish. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team with strong long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial door, frame, and hardware projects.
- Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, contracts, and other technical documents.
- Research and gather pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and organize bid documents, proposals, qualifications, and RFIs.
- Communicate with suppliers and General Contractors to obtain pricing and material availability.
- Review project scopes of work and leveling sheets to ensure accurate bid submissions.
- Utilize Comsense, Microsoft Excel, and BuildingConnected to manage estimating activities.
- Support the project management team with project detailing and preconstruction activities.
- Collaborate with company leadership on bid strategy, best-and-final pricing, and project closeout meetings.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, ideally estimating commercial hollow metal and wood doors, frames, and hardware.
- Proficiency with Comsense and Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with BuildingConnected preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction terminology, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing RFIs, reviewing scopes of work, and leveling sheets.
- Experience bidding SCA (School Construction Authority) projects is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment.
