Under the administrative direction of a National Business Audit Northern Region Section Manager, the Administrator II is responsible for supervising and directing the more complex activities of a group of professional staff engaged in auditing state income tax returns of major corporations that do business within and outside the State of California. The Administrator II is responsible for continually evaluating workloads and processes to increase compliance on a larger scale in the area of multi-state tax law. Continual evaluation of the workload includes reviewing the largest, more complex audit cases at the pre-audit, in-progress, and completed audit stages to provide technical expertise and recommend actions to ensure the standards of audit quality, quantity, and timeliness are met. The Administrator II is also responsible for assessing and addressing training needs, as well as removing barriers that may hinder staff performance. The position requires on-site presence in the San Jose or San Francisco field office.
