Key Responsibilities
Medication Preparation & Dispensing
- Fill prescriptions accurately based on physician orders
- Label and package medications for distribution
- Operate a pre-packaging machine for unit-dose medications
- Conduct quality checks before dispensing medications
- Order, stock, and organize medications and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates
- Reconcile invoices using pharmacy software systems
- Transport medications to and from nursing stations and patient units
- Respond to urgent or STAT medication requests
- Maintain floor stock levels throughout the facility
- Answer phone calls from nurses and physicians
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately
- Perform routine inspections of medication rooms
- Identify and report potential medication errors or discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant
- High school diploma or GED (Required)
- At least 2 years of pharmacy experience (Required)
- Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (Required)
- Proficient with pharmacy software and comfortable using technology
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience in a hospital or institutional pharmacy setting
- Knowledge of electronic health records and medication management systems
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Pharmacy Tech Certification/License Must be Active.
- Will be required to do a fingerprint background check.
- Must be on time everyday.
