Pharmacy Tech - Savannah, GA

Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Pharmacy Technician 2. This position will work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Description

This position provides clerical support for the hospital’s Pharmacy Department and directly supports the provision of Pharmacy services. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Fills medication orders and performs order entry

·         Restocking and inspecting medications

·         Responsible for unit dose packaging

·         Conducts inventory of drugs

·         Processes drug purchase orders

·         Ordering medications when necessary

·         Prepares medications under the direction of the Pharmacist

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the State qualifications, preference will be given to those candidates who possess some or all of the following skills/experience:

·         At least Three experience working in pharmacy Required; Hospital pharmacy experience a plus but not required; Retail pharmacy experience accepted

·         Licensed with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy

·         Experience in the field of drug purchasing and procurement

·         Experience using a computer database
