Teacher - Science (Middle Level)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Florence School District Three as a full-time Middle Level Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science, foster critical thinking, and promote a love for learning in a dynamic classroom environment. The teacher will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and assessing student progress to ensure academic success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to engage students in hands-on learning experiences.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support.
• Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based learning and scientific exploration.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate science with other subject areas and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data.
• Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification in Middle Level Science for the state of South Carolina.
• Strong knowledge of middle school science curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Proficiency in using technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred but not required.
