Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum for students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
• Teach various art techniques and concepts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
• Organize and oversee art exhibitions, showcases, and competitions to promote student work.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art education into the broader school curriculum.
• Maintain an organized and safe classroom environment, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly cared for.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and art program initiatives.
• Stay current with art education trends and best practices through professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Art Education or eligibility for certification.
• Previous teaching experience in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and parents.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into the art curriculum is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• A portfolio showcasing personal artwork and student work is highly desirable.
