Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments and screenings for students, including vision, hearing, and overall health evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions or special needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with school policies.
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed, including responding to medical emergencies.
- Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and healthcare providers to address health concerns and promote student wellness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered.
- Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of health education principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in using electronic health records and other relevant technology.
- CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications in school nursing or pediatric care are a plus.
