Mobile, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Nutritionist to evaluate patient needs, develop individualized nutritional care plans, and provide nutrition education and counseling that supports overall clinical treatment goals.
Essential Duties
- Provide individual nutritional counseling upon referral as part of the clinical treatment plan.
- Conduct group nutritional counseling sessions for patients requiring ongoing support with specific nutritional concerns.
- Develop and implement nutrition programs and services based on patient needs.
- Serve as a consultant to clinical staff regarding the prevention and treatment of conditions with a nutritional component.
- Support physicians and healthcare teams in the management of diabetic patients and other patients requiring medical nutrition therapy.
- Evaluate, interpret, monitor, and document the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients and outpatients in accordance with established standards of care and practice guidelines.
- Deliver age-specific and culturally responsive nutrition counseling to patients and their families.
- Develop, review, update, and maintain print and non-print educational materials on nutritional topics for patients, students, and clinicians.
- Provide in-service training and educational presentations for clinicians on nutrition-related topics as needed.
- Function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary clinical team.
- Maintain Registered Dietitian status, licensure, and continuing education requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition required; advanced degree in Nutrition preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensure as a Registered Dietitian required.
- Current Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist credential required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of nutritional care and counseling.
- Strong ability to plan and deliver nutrition education programs for individuals and groups.
- Ability to identify nutrition education needs and develop appropriate services and programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, clinicians, and staff.
- Ability to integrate nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy with patient medical goals.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and clinical assessment skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Ability to review patient records, prepare reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to move throughout clinical and office environments as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials and supplies up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties in an in-person clinical setting.
