Overview
Our client in the fluid handling equipment industry is seeking an Applications Engineer to join their growing engineering team in the Spartanburg, SC area. This is an in-house role supporting industrial customers and an outside sales team through technical expertise, application support, and engineered solutions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining engineering fundamentals with customer interaction—without outside sales or travel responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical resource for customers and internal sales teams
- Apply, select, and specify fluid handling equipment based on customer applications
- Analyze application data such as flow rates, pressures, and equipment curves
- Provide technical solutions, troubleshooting, and product recommendations
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation
- Communicate with customers and vendors via phone and email
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in technical sales support or applications engineering
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and data sheets
- Comfortable communicating complex technical information to non-technical audiences
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a customer-focused approach
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience with fluid handling equipment, industrial mechanical systems, or technical sales support is a plus
- Open to early-career engineers or new graduates with strong fundamentals and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000–$90,000
