What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at Finatal?
Location: New York (On-site)
Compensation: $250k-$275k including bonus equity
Finatal is exclusively partnering with a private equity-backed multi-site business sitting at $300m in revenue on a Corporate Controller search. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with a mandate to stabilize, professionalize, and scale the accounting function across a complex organization.
We are seeking a proven leader who has operated in scaled environments through acquisitions, been in the rigor of a private equity-backed environment and is excited by the opportunity to step into a transformational, buildout situation as the business is in a pivotal stage of growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and transform the centralized accounting function across a multi-site organization, driving consistency and standardization
- Manage and develop a team of ~10, with responsibility to evaluate talent, upgrade capabilities, and build out the organization
- Establish structure across close, reporting, and consolidation processes in a complex environment
- Partner closely with the CFO and leadership team to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy
- Drive process improvements and internal controls, bringing order to a previously fragmented function
- Support the organization through a transformation period, building scalable processes aligned with future growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between accounting, finance, and operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Controller within a PE-backed environment
- Experience operating in mid-to-large scale businesses (500M revenue)
- Strong background in multi-site organizations, including consolidations and complex reporting structures
- Demonstrated success in transformational environments, bringing structure to evolving functions
- Experience in managing and developing accounting teams
- Track record of progression and growth within organizations
- Highly hands-on leader with the ability to execute while building for scale
