- Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to ensure a comprehensive athletic program.
- Monitor and evaluate athletes' performance and progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Organize and manage team logistics, including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment needs.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league regulations and policies related to athletics.
- Promote the basketball program within the school and community to encourage participation and support.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and coaching techniques.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, particularly with middle school or youth basketball teams, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to create a safe and inclusive environment for all team members.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and games.
