Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Manager to oversee our food service operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in various dining settings including quick service, casual dining, and fine dining. The Food Service Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily food service operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering and stock management.
- Train and develop staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service.
- Implement and enforce food safety regulations and best practices.
- Utilize POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) for cash handling and sales reporting.
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate shift management to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct interviews and hire new team members as needed.
- Develop budgets and monitor financial performance of the food service department.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through effective team management and hospitality practices.
- Plan and execute catering events, banquets, and special functions as required.
Experience
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management roles.
- Strong background in cooking, food handling, and kitchen management.
- Experience with inventory control and budgeting within the food industry.
- Familiarity with various POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- Culinary experience with an emphasis on training & development of staff is highly valued.
- Knowledge of fine dining standards as well as casual dining experiences is beneficial.
- Background in hospitality management or hotel experience is a plus.
