Heavy Equipment Operator

Fann Contracting, Inc is seeking an experienced and versatile Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team for local and statewide projects.

We specialize in mass excavation, rock handling, underground utilities, private and public infrastructure, asphalt paving, aggregate crushing, asphalt hot plant production, and much more. Our projects include public and private entities including ADOT, FHWA, BIA, city and county municipalities, private residential and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, graders, and backhoes in accordance with operational and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Safely move earth, rock, gravel, or other materials as required by project specifications.
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials when necessary.
• Follow site-specific safety protocols and company policies at all times.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with site supervisors, team members, and other onsite personnel.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly at the end of each shift.

• Proficient operation of various heavy equipment types.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in the construction industry.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of equipment safety procedures and practices.
• Ability to pass drug screening.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited heavy equipment training program.
• Experience working on diverse construction sites.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous physical tasks.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and in variable environments.
• Ability to stand, sit, and operate equipment for extended periods.
