Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Manager is employed by ID3 and is responsible for overseeing and managing all inbound and outbound shipping, receiving, and material movement activities in support of ID3 operations and Exploring, LLC and its affiliated companies. This role supports a multi-company, multi-warehouse environment and requires strong leadership, logistics expertise, inventory oversight, and cross-functional coordination.
The Shipping & Receiving Manager works closely with Project Managers, Shop Foremen, Department Managers, and Operations Leadership across the Exploring organization to ensure materials are received, stored, transferred, and shipped accurately, safely, and on schedule.
This role combines hands-on operational involvement with strategic oversight, process improvement, and accountability for shipping performance.
Overall Goals
- Lead and manage shipping and receiving operations for ID3 while supporting logistics needs across Exploring companies.
- Ensure accurate documentation, packaging, and timely movement of materials between warehouses, job sites, and vendors.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability across multiple locations.
- Reduce shipping errors, delays, damage, and logistical disruptions.
- Serve as a primary logistics point of contact for project managers and operations teams.
- Promote safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse and shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage daily shipping and receiving operations for ID3 facilities and support logistics needs for Exploring companies.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, condition, and proper documentation.
- Supervise and support shipping and receiving staff or shared labor resources, as applicable.
- Coordinate material transfers between multiple warehouses, fabrication shops, and job sites.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, staging, and secure loading of all shipments.
- Create, review, and approve Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping manifests, delivery confirmations, and damage reports.
- Maintain and audit shipping documentation, photos, and records within GBMS.
- Communicate shipment status, delays, or discrepancies to project managers, shop leads, and department leadership.
- Review shipping schedules, purchase orders, and project timelines to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Manage relationships with freight carriers, logistics vendors, and transportation partners.
- Assist with inventory tracking, reconciliation, cycle counts, and warehouse audits across supported locations.
- Physically assist with loading and unloading trucks as operational needs require.
- Maintain clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant shipping, staging, and warehouse areas.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to shipping, logistics, and inventory.
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and best practices across shipping operations.

Knowledge & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or operations training a plus.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in shipping, logistics, inventory, or warehouse operations.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of freight documentation, LTL and full truckload shipping, and logistics coordination.
- Experience supporting multiple warehouses or business units preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, email, spreadsheets, and internal tracking systems.
- Experience with GBMS or similar inventory/shipping systems preferred.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout warehouse and production environments.
- Regular use of computers, phones, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Ability to safely load and unload trucks.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for inspection, documentation, and equipment operation.
