Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the rehab team to acquire and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
- Design and implement personalized therapy activities tailored to residents' goals, abilities, and interests.
- Consult with interdisciplinary staff to create individualized therapy regimens.
- Guide residents in communication skill-building, monitor progress, and adapt therapy plans as needed.
- Lead in-service training programs on speech therapy techniques for medical, nursing, and therapy staff.
- Supervise support personnel in accordance with state and professional standards.
- Actively participate in care planning meetings and facility events.
- Maintain a supportive, respectful, and empathetic environment for all residents.
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- ASHA certification required
- Florida SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- Eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
