Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
Position Summary
The Clinical Manager provides direct supervision and clinical oversight of hospice clinical staff and serves as a primary clinical resource. This role ensures high-quality, compliant patient care while supporting staff performance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and agency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide clinical oversight to hospice clinical staff
- Serve as a clinical resource for symptom management and patient care
- Participate in patient visits as needed
- Collaborate with Medical Director and physicians on eligibility and care planning
- Participate in IDT meetings
- Build, lead, and support a high-performing clinical team
- Monitor quality of care across all settings (home, SNF, assisted living)
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Assist with agency policies, surveys, and payer documentation
- Evaluate staff productivity and conduct annual competency reviews
- Serve as administrative on-call evenings/weekends
- Complete required documentation and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited program in Nursing, Social Work, or Chaplaincy.
- Current, active licensure or certification in the State of Ohio appropriate to the role (e.g., RN, LSW/LISW, or Chaplain).
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in healthcare, such as Medical/Surgical, Oncology, community health, hospice, or other relevant settings.
- Hospice experience preferred.
- Minimum of three years of management or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership competencies and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
Special Skills and Requirements:
- Shall have a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Travel to other sites as needed. Travel may be in inclement weather.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs of supplies or equipment.
- Requires various amounts of sitting, standing, twisting, turning, bending, lifting and walking.
