Substitute Work-Based Nutrition Assistant
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains a good attendance & punctuality record
• Adheres to work hours and sign in/out correctly
• Prepares food in accordance with Baldwin County procedures & policies
• Follows the daily work schedules accurately, promptly and efficiently
• Follows standardized recipes for food preparation when available
• Follows proper safety & sanitation procedures
• Keeps work area neat & clean
• Participates in clean-up at the end of the day
• Is able to perform all the physical demands of the job including but not limited to lifting a minimum of 40 pounds, mopping, and carrying.
• Maintains a positive towards the job, fellow workers, school staff, students and guests
• Meets Baldwin County School Nutrition Program personnel standards, requirements and conditions of employment
• Refers all concerns & problems to the School Nutrition Manager
• Shows initiative and looks for ways to improve job performance
• Cares for equipment properly and promptly reports faulty equipment to School Nutrition Manager
• Works independently and as a team member
• Accepts direction from School Nutrition Manager and Director
• Accepts constructive criticism from School Nutrition Manager, School Nutrition Director and the School Nutrition Trainer
• Attends 4 hours of training annually as required by Professional Standards
• Accepts added responsibility and performs other duties as assigned by School Nutrition Manager, School Nutrition Director and the School Nutrition Trainer
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Enrolled and in good standing, as a student at Baldwin High School or GCEC. Students will receive a "Food Handler" course and complete USDA Civil Rights videos.
REQUIRED
Must be able to read and write, comprehend and follow instructions. Cashier, food prep and server experience preferred, but not required. Be in approved uniform and meet all sanitation/hygiene requirements. Knowledgeable of Google platform.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Schedule to be determined by the Work Based Learning Instructor with approval of the Nutrition Director. Hours during the school term will be limited to 4 hours per day. Summer will be limited to 7 hours per day or less. This position is not eligible for benefits. Must be 17 years old. Must have a valid work permit, if required. Must pass the background check. ESS Education is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
