Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Sustaining Engineering Technician to support the troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement of electrical and electromechanical products.
This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Development teams to resolve technical issues, validate design changes, and improve product reliability. The position is heavily focused on diagnostics, root cause analysis, and hands-on problem solving, making it an excellent fit for someone who enjoys figuring out why equipment or electronics are not functioning as intended.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and electromechanical product issues
- Perform testing and validation of design changes to verify performance and reliability
- Support manufacturing teams with product-related technical challenges
- Collect and analyze diagnostic data from failed components, returned products, and field failures
- Utilize digital multimeters and other test equipment to support troubleshooting efforts
- Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions
- Support prototype builds, product evaluations, and engineering lab testing
- Evaluate components and assist with ongoing product improvement initiatives
- Work cross-functionally to improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability
Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, or electromechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Experience using digital multimeters for diagnostics and testing
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Comfortable performing hands-on technical work in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
- Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Oscilloscope experience
- Product testing, validation, or diagnostics experience
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Background in electronics, power electronics, electrical testing, aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, circuit board testing, or similar technical environments
