Part Time Instructional Coach
An Instructional Coach facilitates teacher growth through coaching conversations, supports the implementation of the Iowa Core standards, and analyzes data to improve instruction. The coach collaborates with teachers on professional development, helps them analyze student work and classroom observations, and supports them in developing growth plans with measurable goals. They also assist with curriculum development and may lead professional development sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitating Teacher Development:
Engaging teachers in collaborative learning cycles focused on the Iowa Core standards.
Guiding teachers in developing and implementing individualized growth plans with clear goals and success measures.
Providing feedback to teachers based on classroom observations and data analysis.
Modeling effective instructional practices and co-teaching when appropriate.
Data Analysis and Improvement:
Helping teachers analyze student work and assessment data to inform instructional decisions.
Supporting teachers in using data to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement.
Monitoring progress on instructional initiatives and teacher development.
Curriculum and Professional Development:
Assisting with the implementation of curriculum and ensuring alignment with the Iowa Core.
Developing and facilitating professional development opportunities for teachers.
Keeping current with research-based instructional strategies and best practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborating with building administrators and other instructional coaches.
Communicating regularly with the principal and other relevant stakeholders.
Fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for teachers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of the Iowa Core and effective instructional strategies.
Experience in data analysis and using data to inform instruction.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to design and deliver effective professional development.
Experience with mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback.
Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

Instructional coaches do not evaluate teachers.
This position is focused on supporting teacher growth and improving student outcomes.
Duties may vary based on the specific needs of the school or district.
