Job Summary:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, releasing, and monitoring work orders to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures production schedules align with customer demand, material availability and operational priorities. The Production Scheduler collaborates cross-functionally with production, purchasing, materials, and warehouse teams to maintain workflow, minimize delays, and support on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create, release, and maintain production work orders based on demand, forecasts and inventory requirements
- Develop and adjust daily and weekly production schedules to support manufacturing priorities and customer delivery expectations
- Review material availability, labor capacity, and lead times when scheduling work orders
- Coordinate with purchasing and materials team to ensure required materials are available for production
- Communicate schedule changes, shortages, and production priorities to the Value Stream Leader
- Monitor work order progress, update schedules as needed to address delays, issues, or changes in demand
- Track and report work order ahead/behind status and completion
- Ensure work order data and production dates are accurate within planning system
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to improve workflow, reduce bottlenecks and maximize efficiency
- Support buffer stock and inventory goals by aligning schedules with demand and replenishment needs
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement in scheduling, planning, and production flow
- Maintain clear documentation and records related to work orders, production plans and scheduling activities
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working in office and plant environments

- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and ability to report to all levels of management on the status of production activities
- Openness to receive constructive feedback from various areas of the organization with the ability to turn that into documentation and process improvements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while completing work activities
- Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, RootStock) and MS Office Suite (specifically Excel)
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work between shop floor technicians and management
- Analytical Abilities: Strong capacity for data analysis, forecasting, and bottleneck identification
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in an applicable field (engineering, business, supply chain, logistics) with four years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in applicable field (engineering, business, supply chain, logistics) with two years of experience
- Other degrees considered with 10 years of applicable experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or working with manufactured products of internal design.
- Experience with production scheduling or planning functions preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This is a combination of an in-office position at ECS headquarters and working in the plant or warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate. Must have reliable means of transportation to allow flexible work hours as needed.

- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
- Frequently required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Occasionally incur physical demands associated with ground and/or air travel
- All above could occur in high or low temperatures involving wind and/or precipitation
- This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
