Job Summary:
This co-op position offers students hands-on experience in a fastmoving manufacturing environment, providing the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for a future engineering career by designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting production operations, improving workflow efficiency, and contributing to the creation of high-quality products.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Working on lean improvement projects supporting Manufacturing Engineering & Operations Leadership
- Design and build jigs/fixtures to support manufacturing operations and ensure consistency and accuracy in production
- Assist in the design and development of efficient manufacturing cells to enhance productivity
- Supporting plans to increase output while minimizing resources
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate. Must have reliable means of transportation to allow flexible work hours as needed.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb ladders/steps, and sit
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
- Frequently required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Occasionally incur physical demands associated with ground and/or air travel
- All above could occur in high or low temperatures involving wind and/or precipitation
Travel:
- Minimal travel may be required occasionally

Qualifications
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong ability to use power tools and hand tools to build/modify production fixtures to support objectives
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills. Able to understand complex issues and provide appropriate, effective solutions
- Understanding of CAD fundamentals
- Must have the ability to effectively handle multiple tight timeline situations
- Flexible and a strong willingness to adapt and be an advocate for change
- Ability to work through multiple obstacles to complete daily tasks
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Education and Experience:
- Actively enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
