Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational projects
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to promote respectful interactions
- Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic success
- Maintain a clean and organized activity space, following safety protocols and childcare standards
- Support outdoor activities and supervise children during outdoor play or field trips
- Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate programs aligned with youth development principles
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or camp settings
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED operation (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Background in special education or childhood development is preferred
- Ability to work outdoors and engage in physical activity throughout the day
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated team leadership skills with a proactive attitude towards youth engagement
