Duties
- Supervise children and youth during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate a variety of engaging activities including arts and crafts, sports, educational games, and outdoor recreation
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Support children with homework assistance, tutoring, or special education needs as required
- Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including administering CPR or AED operation in emergencies
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute youth group activities that promote social skills and personal growth
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play while adhering to safety standards
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation preferred; training available if needed
- Strong understanding of childhood development and special education needs
- Ability to supervise children outdoors and indoors effectively in various environments
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Prior experience in youth development programs or teaching young children is highly desirable
- Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide children positively
