Job Summary

As a Junior Interior Designer, you will play a key role in creating compelling, brand-aligned retail environments in partnership with the Store Design and Construction team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to grow their design skills while contributing to both land-based and cruise retail projects. You will be involved in design development, sourcing, and project execution, collaborating with senior designers, project managers, and external partners to bring Effy’s retail spaces to life.

This role is based in our headquarters in New York City and requires a 5 day full-time onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of interior concepts, space plans, and presentations, supporting overall design direction
• Create drawings, renderings, and mood boards to communicate design ideas and advance project development
• Conduct research and provide recommendations on materials, lighting, furniture, and fixtures aligned with Effy Brand Standards
• Develop and execute concepts for window displays and charter designs as needed
• Participate in site visits, surveys, and project installations, documenting progress and identifying potential issues
• Maintain and organize the design library, samples, and project files Review vendor and shop drawings and coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure design intent is met
• Stay current with design trends, materials, and innovations relevant to retail and cruise environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in interior, retail, or hospitality design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign preferred)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent visual communication and presentation abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• NYC-based with availability to travel for ship or site visits as needed

Salary Range:

• $65,000 – $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
