PLC Programmer

Edison smart are partnered with a leading mission critical and hyper scale data center customer, based in the Virginia area. Locations are Richmond VA & Tyson's Corner.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee programming and configuration activities for advanced automation and SCADA solutions.
• Develop, configure, and resolve issues within PLC, RTU, and HMI platforms.
• Carry out system testing, fault diagnosis, deployment, and commissioning tasks.
• Create and maintain commissioning and testing documentation.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Competence in interpreting electrical drawings and control system schematics.
• Practical experience with system commissioning, setup, and calibration.
• Strong ability to identify and resolve control system faults.
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAE tools such as AutoCAD or EPLAN.
• Proficiency in common office applications, including Word and Excel.

Essential Requirements

• Experience with programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in complex automation environments.
• Hands-on experience with PLC/DDC systems from at least one of the following:
• Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation), with PlantPAx experience considered advantageous

Qualifications & Background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.
