Controller
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and support the overall financial health of the organization. Reporting to executive leadership, this role manages core accounting functions, ensures compliance and internal controls, supports financial reporting and analysis, and drives process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Inventory Valuation, and Government Billing
- Maintain accounting systems, internal controls, and financial compliance processes
- Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual close activities to meet reporting deadlines
- Prepare financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations for executive leadership
- Support process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices
- Manage external bank reporting and internal financial reporting requirements
- Administer retirement plan compliance and related reporting
- Coordinate annual external audits and serve as primary audit liaison
- Oversee tax compliance and filings with external advisors
- Conduct periodic audits of fixed assets and inventory
- Support special projects and additional finance initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- 8 years of accounting and leadership experience
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial operations and accounting processes
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with payroll and accounting systems such as Paycom or ADP preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a collaborative team mindset
