Staff Accountant
Position Overview: The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations with exposure to multiple areas of the finance function, including billing and receivables, general ledger accounting, treasury, accounts payable, and financial reporting. This role will assist with month-end close, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll tax reconciliations.
- Prepare customer billing and invoices.
- Assist with vendor invoice processing and weekly payment runs.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, working capital, and budget-to-actual variances.
- Research accounting issues and provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions.
- Develop reports and metrics to monitor financial and operational performance.
- Maintain accurate financial records within the ERP system.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and process improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, billing, or accounts payable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in a service-based environment is a plus.
