Staff Accountant
Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close. This role works closely with internal teams across multiple locations and reports directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Process intercompany transactions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analyses
- Prepare schedules and documentation for audits
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data entry into the ERP system
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close
- Knowledge of debits and credits
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with an accounting or ERP system preferred
