Job Description
Description Summary Perform the assembly or sub-assembly of medical devices and products in a senior position under limited supervision from line Leads and Supervisors in accordance with manufacturing documents. Assist the Lead and Supervisor in coordinating production activities.
Job Duties
1. Follow manufacturing instructions to assemble product
2. Record data associated with the building of the product on build records
3. Recognize problems as they arise and interface with Technicians, Engineers or Supervisor to find a solution.
4. Identify continuous improvement opportunities
5. Work with Engineers and Supervisors to perform special assembly requests
6. Assist the Production Lead to address day to day production issues including staffing needs, material availability, and equipment status
7. Follow all related quality, compliance, and company policies and procedures
8. Understand operations objectives and work with team members to achieve overall production goals
9. Responsible for learning and maintaining knowledge and skills to perform majority of the manufacturing processes successfully
10. Train other assemblers on certified manufacturing procedures as directed by the Lead and Supervisor
11. Act as a Production Lead as needed
12. Provide employee performance feedback to Lead and Supervisor
13. Meet all performance standards and metrics by using time and resources efficiently
14. Maintain safe and clean working environment by keeping work area in a neat and organized manner
15. Must be willing to work overtime when needed
16. Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization
17. Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
1. Manufacturing experience, preferably in Medical Device Assembly Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing experience
3. Ability to do small part assembly work using a microscope, vision system and or related automated equipment
4. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (read, write, and speak in English) with peers, engineers, leads, supervisors, and managers
5. Basic math skills
6. Knowledge of basic measuring techniques including scales, rulers, US and metric measurement 7. Proficiency in assembly procedures, with the ability to train others on the assembly procedures and inspect assembler’s work.
8. Strong sense of urgency
9. Ability to work in a culturally diverse work population
10. General knowledge of clean room procedures
11. Previous experience using microscope assembly in a medical device industry
12. Good interpersonal skills
13. Basic computer and Microsoft Office software skills
Physical
1. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
2. Bending/looking down (Extended usage of a microscope)
3. Twisting, bending (back, arms, legs, etc.)
4. Moderate lifting
5. Repetitive motion with arm, hand, wrist, fingers: gripping, grasping, twisting, pulling, etc.,
6. Ability to work with chemicals
