What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate position at Eastridge Workforce Solutions and Careers?
Eastridge Workforce Solutions is committed to connecting skilled professionals with meaningful career opportunities. We are seeking a Research Associate to support our client’s team.
Research Associate (12-Month Contract)
Location: Connecticut
Pay Rate: $27.00–$43800/hr (W2, DOE)
Schedule: Full-time, onsite, Monday–Friday
Type: 12 month Contract
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing life sciences company working at the forefront of protein sequencing technology. Their teams bring together biology, chemistry, and engineering to turn lab-based science into real, scalable products.
This Research Associate role sits within a sequencing reagent development group supporting an upcoming product launch. It’s a hands-on, bench-based position focused on executing established workflows, running routine sequencing experiments, and supporting multiple internal teams.
This opportunity is especially well-suited for recent graduates or early-career scientists who want to build strong industry experience, develop excellent lab habits, and learn how scientific work translates into real products.
The role is a 12-month W2 contract, project-based, with potential for future opportunities depending on business needs.
Why This Role Is a Great First Industry Step
This is a collaborative, supportive lab environment where learning is part of the job. You’ll work alongside scientists, engineers, and chemists who are approachable, curious, and genuinely willing to teach.
Managers are hands-on scientists themselves, expectations are clear, and once trained, you’re trusted to work independently. It’s a great setting for someone who wants structure, mentorship, and real responsibility without being micromanaged.
You’ll have your own lab bench and desk and gain exposure to multiple scientific disciplines in a fast-moving but supportive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
*
Execute SOP-driven wet-lab experiments with accuracy and consistency
*
Prepare reagents, buffers, and samples for sequencing workflows
*
Run standard protein sequencing experiments and launch initial analyses
*
Document experimental conditions, observations, and results clearly
*
Support multiple teams while staying organized and detail-oriented
*
Identify when results don’t look right and ask the right questions
What We’re Looking For
*
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
*
0–2 years of lab experience (academic labs, internships, co-ops, or early industry roles)
*
Strong wet-lab fundamentals and lab safety practices
*
Comfort performing repetitive, detail-focused bench work
*
Organized, curious, and eager to learn in an industry setting
Nice to Have
*
Any exposure to industry lab environments
*
Protein or sequencing experience
*
Experience working from SOPs
