Pay Range: $110k - $120k

Position Summary:
The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in our Los Angeles and Irvine offices on a broad range of litigation matters. This position will play a key role and provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced paralegal to become part of a collegial and collaborative legal team. This department relies heavily on the Paralegal’s experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected.
Litigation Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification, and/or five (5) years previous paralegal experience.
Compensation
Salary range: $110,000-120,000 annually, depending on experience.
Work Location & Schedule
This position is based in a professional office environment and involves extended periods of computer and telephone use.
The firm operates on a 4:1 hybrid schedule (four in-office days and one remote day per week). Flexibility is required, and remote days may be worked in-office based on litigation demands.
Occasional overtime, including evenings or additional hours, may be required to meet court deadlines and litigation schedules.

Litigation Responsibilities:
- Discovery -- Review Complaints and prepare Requests for Production, Special Interrogatories, Form Interrogatories (General and Employment Law), Requests for Admission and Subpoenas for Records. Perform online research regarding backgrounds of parties and deponents, and preparation of exhibits for use in deposition preparation.
- Deposition Summaries -- Follow up on document and information requests addressed during deposition. Review discovery responses and prepare meet/confer letters and prepare Motions to Compel. Review client documents for responsiveness to production requests and privilege. Preparation of documents for production including redacting confidential information and Bate stamp. Preparation of privilege logs, and responsive shells (with objections) and verifications for discovery requests.
- Document Review -- Review client documents, email, on-site document reviews at client or third-party offices, and documents produced in response to discovery or subpoenas. Organization of documents, chronological order, and preparation of working binders for use in case development. Review electronic documents and organize for use regardless of the number of documents or format of production. Prepare summaries of same for attorney review. Proof and quality control of briefs and exhibits.
- Case Development -- Preparation of charts with information collected from documents for visual of events, etc.
- Motions & Pleadings -- Prepare facts of case in chronological order.
- Trial -- Prepare Exhibit and Witness lists, prepare exhibit notebooks and witness folders/notebooks; prepare On-Call letters and subpoenas; assist attorneys at trial. • Mediation/Arbitration -- Prepare binder containing all relevant documents including Complaint, status letters, briefs, research, background information, discovery responses and any document regarding allegations and case investigation.
- Files -- Prepare and maintain documents and create working binders. Maintain virtual library in an electronic document management system with emphasis on document scanning and proper labeling for easy identification and retrieval. Review files for exhibits and preparation of exhibits for appendixes, declarations, motions, and pleadings for trial.
- Research – Perform legal research, background checks, pull cases, shepherd cases and perform cite checking of briefs to ensure citing accuracy. Research registered agents and obtained corporation and asset information. Perform litigation searches on witnesses and experts. Preparation of documents for expert review (notebooks and electronic media).
- Judicial assignments, Judicial Reviews, Judicial requests or requirements, including research on peer reviews. Settlement research.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation practice in a Mid-size law firm (75 attorneys) environment, with software or technology industry experience a plus
- Paralegal certificate, undergraduate degree preferred.
- Excellent reasoning and time management ability
- Highly organized and superior attention to detail
- Polished written and oral communication skills
- Well-developed sense of collegiality and team-mindedness
- Able to juggle and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of basic e-discovery principles preferred.
- Proficient in legal research (Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, etc.)
- Generally familiar with a wide range of legal matters including complex, commercial, litigation, and regulatory and compliance issues.
- Highly skilled in standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and able to adapt quickly to new technologies deployed across the firm to drive efficiencies. • NY Notary Public a plus
