Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Information Technology assists in departmental planning, budgeting, resource management, and project oversight while serving as a key leader in the Information Technology (IT) department's strategic initiatives and operations.
Essential Job Duties
• Prepare and manage annual departmental budget including quotes, purchases, and invoice approvals.
• Coordinate IT staff, external vendors, and consultants in technical projects.
• Work with stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions.
• Contribute to IT policies and procedures development in areas such as architecture, security, and disaster recovery.
• Participate in formulating and executing long-term strategic plans for the IT department.
• Represent IT department in executive meetings and various committees.
• Coordinate communications between IT and campus community for project needs.
• Provide guidance and training to team members.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology management with 5-8 years of experience
• Master's degree preferred
• 2 years of managerial experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple technical projects and resources
• Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure, security, and business analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity for independent learning
• High emotional intelligence with proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
• Proficient in Microsoft products, Linux, and cloud technologies
• Experience in budget management and resource allocation
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
