Overview
Direct Counsel is seeking an Appellate Litigation Associate to join a leading law firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate practice in Washington, D.C. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile appellate matters, including complex regulatory and Administrative Procedure Act (APA) issues.
Responsibilities
- Draft appellate briefs, motions, and legal memoranda
- Support appeals in federal courts, including high-stakes matters
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis
- Assist with case strategy and oral argument preparation
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of appellate litigation experience
- Experience with the Administrative Procedure Act (preferred)
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier law school
- Appellate clerkship experience preferred
- Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission required
