Labor & Employment Associate (2–4 Years) - Philadelphia

Direct Counsel is representing a reputable law firm seeking a Labor & Employment Associate (2–4 Years) to join its Philadelphia office.

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an employment attorney with 2–4 years of defense-side labor and employment experience who is looking to work on sophisticated litigation and counseling matters within a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice. The role includes significant exposure to complex employment litigation, employer counseling, and class and collective action matters.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in litigation involving:
  • Wage and hour claims
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Accommodation and other employment-related disputes
• Advise employers on workplace compliance matters, including:
  • Leaves of absence
  • Performance management
  • Wage and hour compliance
  • Terminations
• Draft and review:
  • Personnel policies
  • Employment agreements
  • Workplace-related documents
• Conduct legal research, draft motions and briefs, and support all phases of litigation
• Work closely with shareholders and clients on employment strategy and risk management matters

Qualifications

• 2 years of employment-specific, defense-side experience
• Strong background in employment litigation and employer counseling
• Class and collective action experience is a plus
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with the initiative and ability to take ownership of matters
• Must be admitted and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is preferred
