Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for multiple heavy civil construction projects and project teams
- Manage division performance including revenue, profitability, safety, and operational efficiency
- Oversee project management, field operations, estimating, and scheduling teams
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards
- Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the civil construction division
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, public infrastructure work, and private sector projects
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, engineers, and public agencies
- Lead bid strategy and preconstruction planning for major pursuits
- Manage division P&L and annual revenue targets
- Review and approve project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Implement processes to improve productivity and cost control
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimating teams
- Build a strong leadership pipeline within the division
- Recruit and retain top construction talent
- 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction
- 5 years in a senior leadership role (Operations Manager, Division Manager, Director, or VP)
- Proven experience managing large infrastructure projects and multi-project teams
- Strong understanding of estimating, project management, and field operations
- Experience managing division budgets and financial performance
- Ability to lead large teams and drive operational excellence
- Experience with projects such as:
- Roadway and highway construction
- Underground utilities
- Earthwork and grading
- Drainage and water infrastructure
- Municipal or DOT projects
- Experience managing $100M annual project portfolios
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- $170K – $230K Base Salary (DOE)
