Entry Level CNC Operator

Location: Davenport, IA

 Shift: 2nd or 3rd Shift

 Pay: $16 - $20/hr DOE

 Type: Temp-to-Hire

Great opportunity for someone looking to grow their machining career. We are looking for dependable individuals with at least 1 year of manufacturing or machine operation experience. CNC experience is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines
• Perform basic machine setups and adjustments
• Load/unload parts and materials
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and work instructions
• Perform basic quality checks using measuring tools
• Follow safety procedures and maintain clean work areas

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or machine operation experience required
• Basic blueprint reading skills required
• Basic machine setup experience preferred
• CNC experience preferred, but not required
• Stable work history preferred
• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Must pass a drug test

Additional Tasks:

 * Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

 * Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

 * Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.

 * Check to ensure that workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.

 * Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.

 * Remove and replace dull cutting tools.

 * Stack or load finished items, or place items on conveyor systems.
